Anyone take a bisphosphonate for osteoporosis while on prednisolone?

Hi everyone,
has anyone had experience of Alendrenate or Bisphosenate medication to prevent osteoporosis while taking Prednisolone ? If so, what side effects have you had ?
My GP is asking me to consider adding them to my already large cocktail of meds.

Why no dairy? I thought that would be good for our bones along with calcium and D3.

Dairy has been shown to be disruptive to the gut-especially as we get older. This disruption/inflammation can be the cause of your Autoimmune Disease.

I have had PMR since March of this year, and almost at the same time as that diagnosis I started receiving monthly injections of an osteoporosis medication called Evenity. So far, no side effects from Evenity, just soreness at the injection areas. Also taking D2 and D3 and daily 600 mg calcium. My osteoporosis is severe and has been there since my mid-thirties, before steroids and before menopause. (am New 70). Hoping for the best with the new drug. Best of luck!

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2019 and my doctor recommended Prolia treatment. However, before I began the treatment, I was diagnosed with PMR after a Covid shot and placed on prednisone for pain control and reduction of inflammation. The rheumatologist I was seeing for the PMR advised me to go ahead with the Prolia so I received one shot, which did not cause any immediate side effects, but two months later, I experienced severe jaw pain with signs of infection around dental implants that had been in place for twenty years. After removal of the implants, the area failed to heal and a bone was exposed, causing intense pain. I was then diagnosed with ONJ, which was very upsetting since there is no effective treatment or cure for ONJ. Some people heal and others are left with a long term problem. I was very fortunate in this regard, as my jaw eventually healed although only after several months of intense pain. While all of this was going on, I was tapering the prednisone for PMR. I eventually managed to be pain free from both conditions and am now trying decide how to treat the osteoporosis, since doctors recommended against further Prolia or other similar medications.

So one shot and no problems ? I had one just 2 years ago and so far no fractures. I feel though as it has affected me in some way but I can’t describe. I walk a lot everyday and keep fit all my life . How do you feel now? How old are you?
