@frdunbar - PRP is platelet-rich plasma. I tried to get it prior to my knee replacement but my surgeon said my knee was too far gone and it wouldn't help. Here's some more info on the pros and cons of PRP.

I think if I were going to get one I would want it to be done at a teaching hospital or a major health facility like Mayo Clinic.

platelet rich plasma....They take blood out, spin it, and reinject it with dense platelet content. It is offered in a mainstream hospital system here but insurance still considers it experimental so we paid $1,000. She had it done on SI joint and later for knee. Better than surgery for her (she has had two). But it does not work for everyone and only for soft tissue issues.
