I’m unable to self cath so I was getting weekly caths with a gentamicin instillation of the bladder. I ended up resistant to orals so I’m on IV now. I wished I lived closer to Mayo but it’s looking like I may have to go there. I’m In Oklahoma and drive 80 mi to the best we have here. It’s been kidney stone related then add in age, diabetes, post-menopausal etc etc it’s a mess down there as I like to joke with my nurse.

My primary says my bladder is way older than my actual age. I asked her if we could 3d print in a new one? She said no unfortunately. She gave me two months worth of Macrobid, but last we tested I didn't have an infection after having ecoli the previous week. I have protein in my urine. Always something new to figure out...

There is this lady down the street who told me she has all her original parts which I thought was hilarious considering how many of my original parts I don't have anymore because she was asking me if she should get a hysterectomy (she is 81). I told her not to - I got mine at 40 because I had to.

If you do go to Mayo try to get as much scheduled ahead time as you can - Mayo really has helped me. I have had to make six trips in the last year. I live in Florida and go to MN - the advantage of going to MN is you can see multiple specialties at once if you need to. I have multiple issues though - that is just one of them. Well this will be trip seven next week - as much money as I have spent I could have done a month long tour of Europe. Oh well, I guess I can just call it Tour De Mayo. Health is worth more...

But finding humor is a good thing to remember amid all the chaos so thanks for reminding me to not always think about the medical components of life or you will always be stressed. Humor is really the best medicine, as cliche as that sounds...
