High rheumatoid factor with sfn without RA from implant?

I'm 54 a little dizzy with burning puffy feet. All my blood work checks out good except R factor of 146. This would lead me towards autoimmune but rheumotolgist and neurologist didn't pursue after blood work, just a referral with a 10 month wait. I have had a hip transplant and Googled autoimmunity and titanium implants and found the two are related. I also found a lab that checks for autoimmune issues with your blood by mixing it with samples and looking for igg and igm (which are the rheumatoid factors) pre surgery. I would think they can do it post if they establish a baseline R factor. I think this is overlooked too often. I'm trying to get someone to order the test at ccrlab dot com. Surgery was a year and a half ago this fits with a year or so delay in developing a condition. They actually reverse many autoimmune conditions by removing the offending material. As crazy as it sounds MS in 2 cases. I think I would rather have one leg then multiple health issues if a substitue material can't be found.

Hello @gbny1224. Good for you for keeping on the trail of answers as to why your R factor is elevated. I feel like our bodies generally know when something is "off" and our intuition kicks in to advocate for the answers to help.

All that said, have you already asked your doctors if they would order the test for you given your suspicion and research or have the turned you down?

Agreed ! Dont believe in coincidences new hip new issues. Like dr tom cowen says patients have stories and they are not to be overlooked. I saw a few subtle signs before my feet started burning : puffy rt ankle puffy lower eye lid. I ended up ordering the test myself for 425. Most doctors just do their little test and push you out the door. If they don't understand something they don't want to use their time to look into it. Being only 2 such labs in the country of course they don't have pre approved insurance, and that would be more work for them getting it. You really do have to be your own advocate. I havent ate any garbage like processed foods or highly oxidized (heated) seed oils in 10 years to avoid these characters but this happens anyways. On a positive note, the test should be a slam dunk tho its not like I mentioned above. They look for specific antibodies to known materials on their data base. My body should have plenty of those with that high of a rheumatoid factor ! I still think this might be overlooked because it's not like an allergy or infection it could takes years to develope and can't be found on an x ray or in usual blood work.
