Side sleeper: My neuropathy is worse at night and on one side more

Posted by myfeetareonfire @myfeetareonfire, May 4, 2022

Hi folks, I'm a side sleeper and my worst neuropathy is when I go to bed. It hurts worse on one side than the other. It takes almost an hour for the sensation to go away. I am on Gabapentin. My doctor is stumped on why it hurts more on one side than the other. Thanks for your assistance. Stay safe.

Hi!
I am a side sleeper. I just read your response about the "helpful article." I have had serious foot P-N problems for years, but just started this year with my hands and arms going numb during the night. I could have written exactly what you said!! I was afraid I was having a stroke.
Please share what "ARTICLE" you said was helpful? Also, my hands are very cold all the time if the outside temperature is below 70 degrees. Any ideas out there would be most welcomed!!!

This is the article on sleep position John Bishop posted. I hope you find it as useful as I did! If it doesn't automatically provide a link, you may have to copy & paste into your browser

Thank you Deb for giving me the link! The information is fresh and I will follow those guidelines from now on!!
I am so shocked to learn how important the positions are for your hands and arms when sleeping.
How wrong can I be? So valuable! I am so grateful to you!!

How lucky am I to get two responses!? This only makes it "doubly-true" and a good pattern to follow! Thank you so much! Great advice that I will follow!

Well they changed my medication from Gabapentin to Pregabalin and results are the same. They have me seeing a neurologist in Rochester in July. I seen him almost 2 years ago for original diagnosis. I feel like I'm getting nowhere fast with Mayo Clinic. It takes about an hour for the pain to subside when I go to bed.

Mine is also so much more at night. I was just given Horizant by my pain management doctor.
Has anyone else tried this and their results?
