Hi there. Thank you for your comment. The tinnitus is constant but the buzzing when I talk comes and goes. The pressure/clogged feeling also fluctuates from mild to extreme. Feeling/sounding like I'm in a barrel or echo chamber comes and goes also. I don't know if the fluctuating symptoms means that I should hold off on considering implant because my hearing is changing still and might come back?? Or if fluctuating symptoms is just part of the condition and goes on long term and is not a sign that hearing might improve. Maybe the Dr I see next week will be more helpful than the last one. I'm so grateful for this online community as before this happened I had never heard of SSHL. Big hug to everyone going thru this. Before I commit to an implant surgery I should probably try the biCros.

Not wanting to be negative, but from what I understand about SSHL, hearing is unlikely to come back if it hasn't within a few days or week at the most.

The surgery is an option that wasn't available years ago. Glad you are getting some input from people who have gone that route. A bi-cross hearing device might be worth trying. Have you asked your ENT specialist about that?
