What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@johnbishop, @loribmtloribmt and all..Well, hello my friends.
John, wonderful pictures. Looks like you're having a lot of visitors.
I have attached several new pictures from this month. After 2 iron infusions in March, several days in Mayo ED/hospital for severe intestinal issues, multiple infections, wrongly diagnosed heart attack, and several
weeks of recovery, I'm thrilled to say I am a new woman!

My body has energy from inside rather than from my head and determination...I have several new indoor plants I picked up to save from the dump...Love to sa e plants and give them a chance.

ZZ plant, raven, from Africa with bright green new leaves that turn black indoors growing from big bulbs. A money tree...Goody! Aloe. Lucky bamboo. Watermon plant. A d more.

Yesterday I had a new visitor...huge red headed woodpecker. I have a pair of regulars-downy woods. And, a new finch? Red/purple with grey body and dark spots..ideas?
Lots blooming now. I'm planting, dividing, sharing and hired a few to help clean. Energy level and outlook on life so improved. God is Good!
Enjoy the pics.
Be well, be blessed...elizabeth
Laptop broken, repairs doubtful. Truly lost w/o and it will be 350+ for new one. This has saved my life last couple of years and kept me connected to world. Helped my brain a lot!
Need good thoughts so I can find replacement!

Best to you...

The Mississippi is growing aka flooding. In the first photo, you will see the Mississippi in the background. The river in the front is the result of flooding. It has come all the way to the bottom of the bank. And there is no bridge. In the second photo you will see a black circle around the bridge which has become dislodged. The yellow circle shows you where the bridge belongs.

Good thing this big wedding is in July. Who wants to help rebuild the bridge?

@loribmt, @artscaping, @becsbuddy , @johnbishop, and all...Don't you love that river! What a lovely view. I.love water. Lived for a bit overlooking the St John's River that flow north through Florida to the mouth in Jacksonville, opening into to Atlantic. Wide, beautiful, amazing rivers we have. Never experienced a new river branching onto my property!!!!!
Is this unusual behavior? For you and our Mighty Mississippi?

@artscaping. @loribmt , and all...warning: you will need to interpret my messages as I am now required to type w/one stupid finger while squinting to see and both hands in pain holding, typing etc on this tiny little thing supposedly a phone. M y bored HP Pavillion 17 inch laptop is broken. The case at the plusg- in for the cord. Cracked and broken. Will take weeks, cost couple hundred dollars to fix. Looking now for a good price, HA,HA...and replacement.

Also, friends, I'm nuts not having my sanity saver that saved me through the last year!

So, imagine what I'm trying to say and this may work til I get replacement. May be mentally lost by then....
Love to all...Elizabeth

I have a new view out my window. It’s not snow (yet) or a river(yet), but one of our new visitors! Two crows stop by the birdbath couple of times a day. They don’t take a bath but give their dinner a bath. Pieces of something unrecognizable!
The crows are huge and make lots of noise! This is their 1st year visiting

REPLY

@becsbuddy Wow! That's one hunky black bird. Looks really fine at your birdbath. Don't want to know what he's eating.
They do have a loud, distinctive call. I love to see them fly in a large group from tree to tree or to land on a building....I think they're beautiful.
Haven't been able to get a decent picture of my new love, the huge red headed woodpecker. What joy he and all the others who visit me bring to a lady and her cat. Samantha actually enjoys watching the behavior of these fellows. The squirrels run when she goes out. Goody! The birds keep an eye on her I think but do their thing and she seems to enjoy watching them. Wonder what they all are thinking?
Hot here all week in 90s, no rains in sight, so I'm watering every day front and back...hope all are well. Elizabeth
