@rosemarya That's an amazing story! I am so glad you shared this story. It shows we can never be too careful. Was your surgeon a Mayo doctor or did you just use a local doctor to remove the tissue?

I live in central Kentucky. I went to my local PCP on the last office day before Christmas Holidays for refills on my nontransplant medications. A couple days before my appointment, I noticed that my thumb began to feel sore, and there was a tiny bump where I had pricked it during the summer. So I decided to show it to him. He made a call from his office during my appointment to our local surgeon group. And told me to go there as soon as I left his office where I would be worked in to the schedule that morning. I felt comfortable because the surgeon who treated me, had performed my husband's gall bladder surgery several years ago.
