Two thoughts come to mind: my IgM kappa MGUS was first diagnosed seven years ago when my weight was at all time high. I had just gone on a cruise and eaten far to liberally. No more! Subsequently I’m trying to be honest with myself and have slowly lost 8% of the excess. In online researching from peer reviewed sources, I gather gaining weight can cause MGUS to progress to MM.
