How do you cope with Overactive Bladder/Urge incontinence?
Does anyone have suggestions on how to cope with overactive bladder and urge incontinence? Are there any meds that can help without causing unwanted side effects?

Thanks for sharing. I had the UDT and I am scheduled for PT, bladder training/pelvic floor. Trying to avoid taking medication because of side effects.
My husband had incontinence with his enlarged prostate. His urologist did a "urolift" which placed stents that help the ureter have enough room to operate. Much of his issue was that he never truly emptied his bladder and it was always full. Now, he has little or no urine retention. Also, they advised that he should avoid constipation, which also blocks the ureter. Of course, this was an ongoing problem, so his bladder is not great. His life since the urolift is much better; less incontinence and nighttime wakening.
Thanks for sharing let me know how you make out with PT for bladder/training/pelvic floor
Like the Kegels exercises. Have been doing these at home which helps.
I was having many leaks every time I stand up what a pain getting better.

Will do. Also waiting to get scheduled for PTNS for a 12 week plan. Hoping that will help me too!
I just got out of surgery Friday and had vesicovaginal fistula, The fistula was closed, botox in the bladder to help with spasms, and the sling was taken out. My vaginal wall was thin which could have caused some of the bladder leakage problems. At first both male doctors, urologists, thought it was stress incontinence when it was the fistula causing the problem. So hopefully after 3 weeks when I get the catheter out I will know if its closed. This was done robotically and with a female doctor. Go girl power!!!
Interesting. Best wishes for a successful outcome!
They keep the catheter in for 3 weeks? I had mine in for 10 days only! Catheters are the main source of UTI's, you have to watch it like crazy!
What procedure did you have?
My doctor wants to keep it dry while healing. Two weeks is not enough as I know from previous surgeries.
