Hello John,

I found Connect because I was looking for information about what qualifies people for Evusheld. The Evusheld EUA says "moderately or severely immunocompromised," but does not spell out what conditions qualify people as moderately immunocompromised. I know of quite a few people with Crohn's and other autoimmune diseases who have asked their doctor whether they qualify for Evusheld, and have been told that no, the drug is only for transplant patients and others who are severely immunocompromised. Others have been told no on the grounds that "there's almost none available" (and I know from our site that that is not true). Doctors do not seem to be well-informed about the drug, either how much is available or exactly who qualifies. I thought that Mayo Clinic might have a site where they really spell out what immune-suppressing meds would make someone moderately immunocompromised, so I googled something like "Mayo Clinic Evusheld immunocompromised," and ended up finding this group on Connect.

I myself am not immunocompromised. I am a psychologist working as a volunteer to help Rob Relyea with his site. I joined this group to learn more about the needs of immunocompromised people. I also thought somebody here might have the info I need -- who, exactly, qualifies as moderately immunocompromised? And I also thought some people here might not know about Rob's sites, and thought I might be able to help a few people by informing the group about his sites (in addition to the Evusheld locator site he has also built sites for locating Paxlovid and the other antivirals). If you are not comfortable having someone who is not actually immune compromised in your group I will leave without complaint. But if I stay you can count on me not to blab all the time about Rob's site -- I'll just give a link to it when people ask for info on locating Evusheld. Might ask a question now and then.

@califuture As for myself, I am an active blood cancer patient, also working daily with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease [unrelated to the cancer], fibromyalgia, and other issues. From what I have read and heard from others, because the availability of Evusheld is tenuous for now, there seems to be a "cherry-picking" for patients in the medical community. As of yesterdsy, I received my first two doses of vaccine Jan and Feb 2021, a booster Aug 2021, Evusheld Feb 2022, and a second booster yesterday May 2022.
