@johnbishop, and all...Hello, John. I love the SoClean 2 I bought last year and use every day.
When I wake up, just turn over and put the mask into the SoClean, touch the button and forget about it.
John, I haven't had bronchitis nor pneumonia since I began using this marveous machine! I do also clean the water container weekly and the SoClean machine itself with wipes. I don't clean the hose, tho. I thought the machine did that job???? Do you think it is necessary?
Last year, for several months, I was getting repeat infections from the CPAP caused by my poor cleaning habits I'm sure. I've been told no one gets ill from the CPAP...Well, I strongly disagree.
Since using the machine to clean my CPAP, no bronchitis....well, I just was in the hospital for several days and CT reported some fluid and pneumonia...I was getting worse for a couple of months and I apparently had a partially collapsed left lung. I had no idea, althoughI was having trouble breathing well for some time. I think the lungs and UTI were cleared up by IV bags of antibiotics in the ED. Good thing I went to the hospital when I did, but I hope I won't wait so long next time to get help. We just don't always know why or how we need help, do we?
I'm getting a spiro????.....breathing tube thingy for exercising my lungs while watching tv or laptop or whatever. No more pneumonia! Thank you So Clean. I totally recommend using that machine if you forget or don't feel well every morning or can't clean well, as I can't due to arthritis and poor use of my hands. A good investment for me.
I do change weekly the nasal pillow I use instead of a mask. No panic attack and I get excellent air volume with it. It's quite comfy. I find I'm adjusting the head-gear often to keep it in place and stop leakage. Is that normal ...can give me a headache.
I've only used ResMed so never had to adjust to a different machine. Since finding the nasal pillow, I've been a happy camper with my CPAP and use it religiously. I believe it saved my life since using it this last year.
Be well, breath well and be blessed. elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth @ess77, I usually wash my CPAP hose once a month and rely on the SoClean 3 machine to sanitize it daily. I stopped using a humidifier tank and it works better for me without it.
Here's what the SoClean recommends -- "Can I stop washing my CPAP equipment if I am using the SoClean? Your CPAP equipment is completely sanitised every time you use the SoClean. However, the SoClean will not remove facial oils or dust or other foreign materials. You should hand wash your CPAP equipment with the pre-wash solutions every 5-6 weeks." --- SoClean CPAP Cleaner & Sanitizer FAQs: https://www.soclean.com/uk/soclean-faq
I'm glad to hear the CPAP is working well for you.
