Jake,
How long were you on Klonopin. I use it for sleep. I’ve only use it a short time 9 pills not at once but daily. Your response would be very valuable.

I probably started taking it not to long after it became available which was 1975. Probably took it about 1980 to 1983 or 1985. Hard to remember. I believe someone asked me that question before and I wouldn’t be surprised if I gave different dates but I imagine I took it a good three years maybe five. I took a massive dose trying to get rid of seizures hoping it would help the neuropathy but it didn’t help either one.
Good luck,
Jake

Hi @suzz55, can I ask how much Klonopin we're you taking when you started your detox? How long were you on the Klonopin? I've been on it for 16 years for anxiety and recently went down from 2mg to 1mg. I've heard of people going on really slow taper like over the course of 6-9 months to avoid bad withdrawals. I'm 53 and in menopause and have chronic spine pain, chronic migraines, recently developed chest pain and painful restless leg syndrome, so I'm on a lot of medication. I recently quit my Antidepressant because it was interacting with a medication that I had been on, plus it had stopped working anyway, so now I feel more depressed and I know and my Doctor has even said Klonopin can cause depression, so that's why I want to get off of it, but I don't want to go through the horrific withdrawals. I've heard the longer you take it the harder it is getting off.
My withdrawals were no picnic, but I had built the coming withdrawal with negativity and way out of proportion to what really happened. The withdrawals were not nearly as bad as I anticipated, but I have gone very slowly to get my body accustomed to lesser dose. I was on benzos for 15 years. I went very slowly off and still take 1 mg of Valium at night for sleep. Not being able to sleep, in my opinion, is the worst withdrawal. I have learned to use alternative methods to fall asleep.

I was on 4mg of "Kpinz" for over 30yrs. It has taken me 10 months to get to .5mg once daily. You can go more quickly at the beginning, but leave a LOT of time to get off that last little bit. That's the one that rings all the bells and whistles in your brain, putting it onto Panic Mode! I'm now going to .25mg in June after being on the .5mg for two months! Two more months on the .25 and then .25 every other day!!! Lol. Then i'm going to try and finally erase that Devil from my body! Good Luck!
Was on Ativan for 5 months 0.5 mg daily. Still dealing with withdrawal symptoms at 11 months off. Very frustrating. Things are better than they were initially but still not sleeping normally and have jitteryness, hand tremors, body spasms. Etc

What alternative measures do you use?
Benzos are difficult to get off of. Work great in the beginning and then for some they don’t after awhile.
I’m trying to get off Klonopin very difficult. Body use to it for sleep. Trying a CBN CBD product but having side effects.
Good for you! God bless!
Are you sure it’s withdrawal and not your original anxiety that has returned?
