I have a floater in the vitreous. Dr. said come back in 3-6 weeks for a follow up. Not a big deal.He said it was good to get it looked at in case of something serious happening later on.

Hi,

Thanks for letting everyone know the outcome. If any floater becomes stationary and does not move around or “float”…then you get yourself to the eye Doctor asap. I had a stationary floater back in 1985 and it was a good thing my optician was on the ball….he immediately sent me to an eye surgeon and I had the beginnings of a detached retina….would have been worse if I took my time going…..I did need surgery at that time.
Anything out of the ordinary regarding your eyes is worth a quick trip to the eye Doc….you did the right thing.

Having floaters for many years, I thought that was what you would learn. It is usually a small accumulation of blood caught in the vitreous. When I was young, mine often went away in a few weeks. Now, I have a couple that seem semipermanent, and got the same caution from my eye docs.

It is good to get your update, @riflemanz64. I'm sure you are relieved as well. Did your doctor say if this type of floater is unusual?
