Flow, besides medications, what other things do you do for yourself to help reduce your anxiety?

I’m not sure if I’m posting this is the correct group. My psychiatrist has me on Xanax. Very sensitive to meds. Tried different anti depressants and not successful. He told me to try Seroquel. I’ve been taking 1/4 of 25 mg in am and 1/4 in pm. But I’m still very anxious. He told me to try 1/2 of 25 mg in am and 1/2 in pm. He also said it’s safe and you could stop it anytime. It’s not addictive. Any thoughts? Thank you.

I started seeing a psychiatrist about seven weeks ago.She put me on Seroquel 12.5 in a.m. 12.5 in afternoon and 25 at bedtime. When she raised the bedtime to 50mg. it was too much. I had gene testing done to find the right antidepressants and there is only three that I can take and the one of the three is Pristiq which I was already on and the Seroquel was added. According to the gene testing I shouldn’t be taking Seroquel,so I don’t know what to do next.
My PCP won’t prescribe anything for pain or depression. I went to the ER twice and they gave me a script for Tramadol for two weeks until I have an appointment with StMary’s Pain Management. It doesn’t work for me for pain but at 25mg twice a day has been incredible for my anxiety.
The jury is still out on the Seroquel
and the Tramadol which according to the results of my gene testing Tramadol and Codine are two medications that I should not take.
The results of the gene testing came back after I was already on those meds.
We just have to keep trying.

Have you googled Seroquel? It does have withdrawal symptoms.
If it isn’t addictive like your doctor said than why does your body go through withdrawal when getting off ?
I guess that I am another person who doesn’t always understand why it seems that sometimes doctors prescribe medications
without informing the patient of All possible side effects before the med is taken.

Do some deep research on Seroquel and then decide if you want to take an antipsychotic. Doctors love handing out antipsychotic prescriptions using them off label for people who are not physchotic. I refused to take it after researching.

Thank you for responding. I also would like to know if there’s anyone who had taken a low dose of it. With success or not? Thank you again.

I haven’t been on the 1/4 of 25 mg twice a day for too long. About 2 weeks. Then I just started 1/2 of 25 mg twice a day for a day in a half. I’m not sure if I should have to taper or not to get off of it. Thank you.

I have not been subscribed Seroquel. But I know a person that was. I call it a doo doo pill. I didn't not like the side effects. It puts you in a zombie state and you are in a daze and can't get out of it. It is a strong tranquilizer. It is like the song by Frank Zappa the thorazine shuffle.

I’m so sorry that these drugs do more harm than good
