Bladder sling not allowing bladder to completely empty
I have had a bladder sling placed using my own fascia. It has helped the incontinence, but now it does not allow the bladder to empty completely. I have more than 100 ml, often much more, left in the bladder after voiding. The doctor wants to loosen the sling by actually cutting it in the center to allow the urethra to lie lower. Eight weeks since surgery and it doesn't seem to be improving. Have any of you had the sling cut, and did it lead to incontinence again and other problems?

I went to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. There, I have a wonderful young woman as a gynecological surgeon, and she works together with a urology surgeon as a team. For the last two years I had constant pain with my genitals, and also urinating problems. They found that I had a prolapsed bladder and labia minora fusing. All this got repaired and I am finally without pain for the first time in more than two years, and I can pee again like a normal person.
Congratulations. I am just starting down this path and it is great to know that normality may be possible once again. Thank you for sharing your experience and the positive outcome. It will be a sign of hope for so many folks.
May you be content and at ease.
