Ear Tinnitus and Pain with Neuropathy
Does anyone have severe tinnitus and ear pain with their neuropathy? I have small fiber and autonomic neuropathy and I have been getting severe tinnitus (roaring and high pitch noise) and a feeling of pressure and pain for the last month. I am wondering if the neuropathy and/or medications are causing it. I am on gabopentin, cymbalta, and NSAIDS.

I take Pregablin (Lyrica) without any worsening of my tinnitus. Not sure if it has a similar use to Gabapentin but it might be ok for you.
Good question. Anyone know the answer?
I'm thinking tinnitus may just be an early symptom and not a cause.

Yes I have the same thing! And nothing works for me! It got me ready to jump off the bridge 😞
I thought I was the only person on the planet who has small fiber sensory neuropathy and autonomic neuropathy. My ears ringing is driving me nuts. I’ve had this 13 years and am now on hospice. The autonomic neuropathy had killed the nerves in my heart causing many life threatening problems. There no longer is any treatment to help or reverse the damage. It’s also attacked my eye site( pupils won’t constrict or dilate correctly) it’s also attacking my kidneys. This has got to be one of the worse diseases. I have never heard of anyone else with the same diagnosis.
Not sure of my diagnosis, but I am very sorry that you are going through this. My heart goes out to you. Keep a good thought and please do know that others do care about you and send love. Bless you.
You probably get tinnitus from neuropathy, not the other way around!
Hello, did you ever find out what was causing your tinnitus with neuropathy. I also have CIAP with really bad high high pitched tinnitus
I have the same diagnosis. I do have Tinnitus. I am not on those medications. I use a smart hearing aide and put it on restaurant mode. It helps me focus on conversation and helps make the tinnitus as white noise/ background. I sleep listening to YouTube gentle rain/dark screen (dark screen turns off light)
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is a common side effect that affects about 1-10% of users and can range from mild to severe. I could not take Cymbalta or Lyrica.
