I just read about goodrx and you can use it with Medicare or any insurance co.
In reply to @pwgrimes….I guess it must depend on where one lives as I live in a small town in northern Minnesota and I have never seen such a good price😔
Does Medicare have a donut hole?
I am very glad for you! But, if you have medicare they probably won't cover it.
Neither have I seen such a great price. But check to see if Medicare (if you have it) covers it?
It is crazy how expensive drugs are in US! Just recently, I’m on Medicare and have prescription plan D. My doctor prescribed Rifaximin 550mg for some issues with my stomach. It was over $1,000. I used Pharmacychecker.com and price was $55! The pharmacy is in Canada and they were able to get the generic from India where the drug is made. If you live in the US, you can’t get the generic, but if you live in any other country you can. I have gotten several other drugs through Pharmacychecker.com and I have gotten them for a fraction of what it cost in the US. The only negative is that it will take 3-4 weeks to get the drug. For me waiting 3-4 weeks is worth it, especially when I can save over$900.
Will you please explain this? I tried getting the coupon and the site said that because of medicare I wasn't eligible for it.
I am slowly changing to trying to help myself more and not being so stubborn. GIve me time! lol
You are so right, @frichard. Up until this year, I have gotten some medications in Canada but the prices in America have dropped enough for me to use a local pharmacy. I checked yesterday with that same pharmacy for the migraine med and it's $1000 for 16 pills, the same as in the US.
Lamictal has been so helpful for my daughter, who has both migraines and temporal lobe seizures.
