In need of advice: Granddaughter diagnosed with a pineal cysts
My granddaughter turned 8 on 1/1/2022. Right before Christmas she was diagnosed with a pineal 1.4 cm brain cyst. Also January there was found on her ovaries 4 cysts. 2 right 2 left.
She has a slew of symptoms ( headaches, bloating, prepubescent, light swelling of her head, mood swings, always hungry, growth spurts, etc…)
Is all this related? Does she have a syndrome of some sort? We need direction. We live in Oklahoma, no doctor seems to know anything that will help.

Welcome @vikingwoman. Oh, how worrisome this must be for you and your granddaughter's family. Some of the symptoms you describe common lead to the diagnosis of pineal cysts. @susanaz may have some thoughts for you too as she had a pineal cyst.
I can't answer your question about the relationship between the pineal cyst and the ovarian cysts. It sounds like your granddaughter would benefit from the care of a leading medical center. Might it be possible for her to be seen at Mayo Clinic? The Rochester Mayo Clinic has an excellent Children's Center. Would you like more information?
@vikingwoman, these symptoms do sound worrisome and I'm afraid I can't offer much help because my pineal tumor is a single mass (rather than a cyst). It does make you wonder if your granddaughter is prone to cysts since they are showing up in different organs. I agree with Colleen, if your daughter could be seen at a Mayo facility, you would probably get a better sense of what is going on. It is my understanding that pineal growths are more common in children and young adults, so a pediatric department may provide some answers.
Sending healing thoughts to you and your granddaughter.
I agree I would contact the Mayo Clinic to see if they can see her or I would research all specialist that might be near and see if they could see her.
