Hi @mpeters, I've been a pretty consistent walker for the last 25 + years averaging a couple of miles a day and my bones still thinned so I'm of the opinion that walking isn't enough. I always weight trained as well, but stopped in mid 2020 when I came down with an autoimmune disorder that caused incredible pain throughout my whole body. Through that, I did keep walking. So now I'm trying to catch up with strength training, whole body vibration exercise, etc. Good luck!

I’m very interested in the whole body exercise. For about five years we were going out in our Jeep a lot. During that time, my osteoporosis was very stable. I think it was the vibration in the jeep due to bumpy roads.

Does anyone know if there's a genetic test for osteoporosis? My PCP thinks that genetics plays a large role and asked if nuclear family members had a history of broken bones beyond the common sports injuries if any. I couldn't think of any but I personally did all the wrong thinks for bones including heavy smoking and coffee consumption when younger. Who knew that smoking hurts bones? Not me.
