I was diagnosed years ago with bi lateral trochanteric bursitis and it flares bad in cold weather but more so when it rains. Before I started injections I literally slept on ice packs under both my hips all night it was the only way I could get relief. Injections work great. I also have knee bursitis, arthritis in my elbows, back, hands (thumbs-bad) and neck. Oh let me not forget I recently was told I have arthritis in my jaws ( the right is bone on bone).Everything with me is bilateral I only do cortisone injections because I’m not a fan of meds and I have a high pain tolerance. Not only do I have inflammation everywhere but also deal with migraines and cervicogenic headaches .

Uggh! I’m sorry for all of your pain. I have Chronic pain as well and am not a fan of medications. However, in your case it sounds like it’s somehow systemic and you would probably get the most relief from some type of medication or natural herb.

Since everything is bilateral, have you been tested for rheumatoid arthritis! My understanding oh bursitis is that it evolves due to the irritation/inflammation in the underlying joint. That’s is more of a symptom than a separate condition. I’m glad the injections help, but the cortisone does affect the stability/disintegration of the underlying joint. I wouldn’t think it was something you’d want indefinitely.
