jojoe Today at 1:53 pm 0 Likes I like this I don't like this Report as inappropriate Parathyroid glands are responsible for calcium metabolism in the body; they are located outside the thyroid glands. Nodules in the thyroid glands are a formation of tissues in the gland, almost like nuts of various sizes depending on the size. Some are benign, some are of a concern depending on the activities of each of these nodules.

@ jojoe: thanks for the info. I had parathyroid surgery in September, so I was thinking my experience might be relevant to your situation, but probably not. One similarity: location of these glands. Area has a rich blood supply so heals quickly with very small chance of infection.
