Tight fascia: How to know a massage is too deep or not deep enough?
How to know when a massage is too deep or not deep enough to help. Just started massage after Trigger point injections with pain clinic. Comments?

A goid massage feels like buying a shoe: it has to feel good all rhe way ( and not in a few days after running in- in case of the shoes!) its very dificult to decide ehos the good and the bad masseur! Go by your tommy…. If it feels good its because it does you good!
Ok I read the article and it had a lot of BS; does massage therapy work after a fusion from S-1 to L-1? Does massages do damage after having a Metronic’s stimulator and pain pump implanted? As it appears I am tired of hurting.
Hi 👋
We will be flying to Key West in 2 weeks. My husband signed me up for a massage. I’m rather scared. First, I don’t travel well with my fibromyalgia, chronic vertigo & anxiety. Second, what type of massage is good for someone with fibromyalgia? I don’t want to hurt even more afterwards! I’ve only ever had one other massage. It was 25 years ago, on our 5th anniversary cruise. This vacation is celebrating 30 years, plus our son graduating high school. We adopted 2 unrelated kids from Russia in 2004. Our daughter graduated last year. I’ve been stressed out 24/7 for 17.5 years. Our daughter was 25 months old, 15 pounds and 27” tall. She’s now 19, 4’11” and 98 pounds. She skated thru school by being the teachers’ pet (snitch on anyone who disobeyed). She had an IEP (individual Education Plan) starting when she was 3. She has FAS and a ton of other medical issues. One being she was unable to speak. It’s like when people have a stroke & they have to learn to talk again. Of course, younger brother learned from big sister, so he also had some apraxia to get rid of. I got calls & emails from school daily, sometimes up to 4/day. I figure the internalized stress & anxiety built up into my fibromyalgia.
So anyway, sorry this is so long. What type of massage do I ask for? 😬 Thanks
Yes it does help. I think this person, painscience.com sheds lots of good light on trendy
sales motivated treatments. Thank you @debking1021
After one of my knee replacements I had a really tight IT band. My PT is awesome and he could tell by watching me walk. He worked on it and I had great relief from the pain. Worth checking out. Admittedly it took me a long time to find a physical therapist that can work with me without hurting me. Worth the hunt (I interviewed him before starting with him).
This is a great website that answered some unrelated questions I had. Thanks for posting it.
You're welcome!

Rancho Mirage
I lived in Idyllwild....up above you for more than 20 years. That is why I know where Rancho Mirage happens to be. Good luck to you both. This is a good decision. My life now includes two sessions a week......and I have SFN.
Good luck to both of you.
Chris
