PMR pain without movement: Unsure if PMR or a neurological issue
Rheumatologist unsure if I have PMR or just a neurological issue (I also have fibromyalgia) because I get deep sharp pain in my right arm and also neck without even moving it. Has anyone else experienced this when getting diagnosed?

Yes, before I started on prednisone I had some strange brief sharp stabbing pains in my biceps and occasionally in my legs. I've never had anything like that before and no similar pains since I got on prednisone. They happened when I was not moving.
11 mo. After it started, I still have pain with no movement. Not nearly as bad now that I’ve been on prednisone for 4 mo.
Hello @cap7, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @linda7, @kathleenkapes and others. You may also find the following discussion helpful where @charlena, @joybringer1, @sharenb and others have posted information about diagnosing PMR.

Does your rheumatologist think the pain might be symptoms of your fibromyalgia?
Hi @cap7 With PMR, I had pain throughout my body that made all movement excruciating. I also wonder about your inflammation markers, CRP and ESR, as I think that the scores are not elevated with fibromyalgia.
Hi @linda7 I had brief short stabbing pains in my face - from ear to nose - before being diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis. They seemed to come out of nowhere and were gone quickly, but the day before my temporal artery biopsy, I counted 25.
Thank you for the welcome. My rheumatologist fed not think it’s related to my fibromyalgia but perhaps nerve pain. We are waiting for the blood test results and I’ve been going to a neuromuscular institute with no relieve so far.
Good to know if it’s true about no inflammation markers with fibromyalgia-waiting to see blood test results in couple weeks.
