Yes, you can put the socks in the trunk.that is also a great idea. Just make sure you turn them inside out when taking them off, this way should the socks fall out of a bag, or box the inside of the socks will touch a surface.
I want to add what I did at the gas station the other day. I took my can of Lysol and sprayed the gas pump handle, then I know it takes a few minutes to become “safe” to handle.
I put a clean pair of socks on my hands, then pumped the gas. This way you have an added layer of protection.
Next after careful removal of socks, I went to the grocery store, putting another fresh pair of socks on my hands.
Until this awful cov19 is under control, or better yet GONE the world population must do what is necessary to protect themselves.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN.

@funcountess. Along with washing your hands often, I read that you need to moisturize them since all of that washing is drying and can cause little cracks in your skin, letting germs in. I don’t think to do that often, but since I have not been anywhere in two weeks I am not washing them as frequently - definitely though when touching anything that is delivered.
