I want to get serious for just a moment.
We all need to get to the grocery store from time to time. Many folks cannot get gloves, as the stores ran out of them.
What about taking an old pair of socks, putting them on your hands BEFORE reaching for the shop cart. Also, keep them on picking up your groceries, and taking your change from the change cup.
Once in the car remove the socks, and toss them on the car floor. When home put the socks in a bag,or box. Do not reuse them until after they are washed withHOT WATER.
This method will work at the ATM machine also. I tried it.
It may look funny, but hay if it keeps you well all the better.

This is a great idea! Who cares what others think. Safety first. I would put get a bag from the store and put the "gloves" in before I put it in the trunk instead of the car floor. Leave it in the garage for a few days before taking them out to wash.
