Pediatric scope for tortuous colon colonoscopy
One of the nurses in the GI suite during my last colonoscopy also has tortuous colon. Her gi doc uses a pediatric scope to navigate the twists and turns. So I asked for that, and was able to complete the test all the way to the "end" (no pun intended). Mary

Same happened to me. The balloon didn’t work so they switched to the pediatric scope.
Same happen to me . I just had my colonscopy on 2/25/22. Today is my first day after my diagnosed . I took miralax drank coffee took my prebiotic ate fiber and I have not been to the RR yet. I don't know what to think at this point
I was diagnosed with a tortuous colon after my recent colonoscopy. My other scopes have been quite painful as the scope comes around my right side. I also have gastroparesis and SIBO and have been dealing with digestive issues for about 25 years. I follow a modified low FODMAP diet and that really helps with the discomfort. My GI doctor has suggested a double contrast barium enema to be sure he didn’t miss anything in my colonoscopy. He said he was able to complete the scope all the way to my cecum with maneuvering and repositioning me during the procedure. I’m a retired nurse and I have witnessed a barium enema being performed; the poor patients are in tears, screaming in pain , vomiting and begging them to stop the test. I was wondering if anyone here has had this done or if they’ve had another procedure with less difficulty. My digestive problems are tolerable at this point and my bowel patterns are holding steady. Any input is appreciated…
