Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?

Posted by lorirenee1 @lorirenee1, Mar 25, 2019

I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

I’ve developed problems with nighttime leg and foot cramps which may be related to my decreased walking due to Covid in my community. But I started wearing socks for sleeping and my quality of sleep has improved tremendously. Has anyone else tried this?

I've been wearing white crew socks to bed ever since I had an unexpected ambulance ride to the ER after waking up for a bathroom trip only to see blood all over the bathroom floor and when I looked down I could see it spurting out of my ankle. Evidently I had been rubbing my feet together in my sleep and a hangnail opened a vein near the skin. The EMTs looked at the bed and saw that it had a large pool of blood and said I was lucky that I woke up to go to the bathroom. Have to admit that the socks do feel good and help keep the feet a little warmer at night.

Laura, Also, There is a wolky.com but you will pay a fortune for shoes there. Their shoes are European sizes, I am a size 41.which correlates to a size 10 to a 10 and a half. If you need any help with sizing, let me know. Lori

I wear a Merril hiking boot that i bought at Scheels . I put in an extra insole that holds and reflects the heat back to my feet . With both insoles. The boots are very comfy . They are also nice and warm .

What are HOKA's?

They are just a brand of athletic shoes - they have very thick soles - I tried them on before but for some reason they didn’t seem to be right for me .

They have extremely thick soles. I also tried them. After a few hours my feet hurt so much I had to take them off and return them

Due to my PN and numb toes, I use only New Balance athletic shoes for their wide toe box.

I have HOKA shoes from before the SFN. I now find they are too much shoe for me. Too much platform and weight. Just about everything.

I would second that. I just purchased a set and it felt like I was wearing high heeled shoes which I might add, are not part of my wardrobe. I tend to tweed. Also tried custom orthotics, again no help. What has helped is New Balance the fresh foam.
