10 years ago a was diagnosed with rectal cancer. After chemoradiation I had a proctectomy with coloanal anastomosis and chemotherapy with FOLFOX for 4 months, then reversal.
Since then I struggle with fecal incontinence. I have done pelvic floor strengthening PT, and last year even tried Interstim, which did not work for me because - as I was told - the nerve was damaged due to radiation.
I am on a regiment with prune juice in the morning. It takes about 2 hours before I can safely leave my home.
I am still looking for better treatment, new research or even surgery to ease my incontinence. Otherwise I am healthy.

I am in the boat, but am only 2 months out of surgery (colon and a rectoplexy). I am super active and eat well, but it just comes out. Very frustrating and embarrassing. Also, at times I have horrendous shooting pain from my intestines to pelvis and cramping. It feels like a little person is inside me stabbing me. But after a few CT scans, it is narrowing and just something I have to deal with. I've had several surgeries and do not want another one or a bag.

Also looking for a LARS specialist in Michigan, preferably north of Grand Rapids, if possible. Would also travel out of state(Cleveland Clinic, Mayo) if there is help available.
