I was advised to avoid soy, but it seems to be in everything. Tips?

Funny you should ask. I have been on Anastrozole for 21 months and I have had one trigger finger surgery and now have a trigger thumb that I am having an injection for tomorrow. Did you know the drug causes type 2 diabetes? I was told I will go blind due to the fact I now have diabetic retinopathy. Check what your blood glucose was before you started this drug. I am 70 and diabetes doesn't run in our family. However, I didn't know one of the many side effects of this drug is making you a diabetic.

Really question taking the anastrozole. I have been taking it for 21 months after my bi-lateral mastectomy and now I am type 2 diabetic. I was told yesterday I have diabetic retinopathy in my left eye and will lose my eyesight. No one told me that was a life changing side effect. This drug is dangerous. I have had one hand surgery for a trigger finger and now injections into my thump for a trigger thump. The drug is wreaking havoc on my entire body. I am trying to wean myself off slowly so I can stop it all together. The oncologist wanted me on it for five years, if you read what has happened to other women who took this drug and now what they are dealing with, it's not worth it. Big pharma is using us as ginny pigs. Please check your blood sugar before you started taking the pills and every month while you are if you continue. With this drug you need to take high amounts of calcium to keep up with what it robs from your bones, however that isn't good for your body either. Please ask your dr. point blank questions. I have found the most honest person is your pharmacist.

Keep an eye on your blood glucose because they won't. The reason is, he deals with cancer not diabetes. Really? I have trigger thumb. I did mention to my oncologist and he said it was not from med. I also started having hip joint pain back last May , enough that I had to stop going to gym. Trigger thumb just all of a sudden started during the night when it got stuck and I couldn’t straighten it. This has been since November.
I stopped my Anastrozole for 3 months. It didn’t improve any of my issues, so I started it up again. I’ve taken it for 2 years 2 months counting the break away from it. Unfortunately, arthritis gets the blame for everything that doctors can’t explain or do not want to deal with. Best of luck to you. 🙏🏼

Yes my cancer dr blames Arthritis for my trigger finger.

Even though my trigger thumb did not improve when stopped Anastrozole for 3 months - I Still think it is the cause. Maybe 3 months is not enough or the damage was already done. I keep working my thumb to try snd improve the trigger thumb. Good luck w/ yours

I just want to add, in case people are scared by these posts, that many of us took aromatase inhibitors like anastrazole and did fine. Also it usually takes years to develop retinopathy from diabetes so I am wondering how it happened so fast. It is possible the diabetes pre-dated the med? I will post in the new thread and responses should go there too.
