@dyshu

Thank you. We are waiting for her Medical Marijuana card to arrive in the mail now. I'd like to know if you've tried the CBD topical oils or creams or any form CBD to help with the pain. She is at a stage with her PD, where we are trying to help with the pain in her shoulders, neck, and head. She has a great neurologist, but they are not involved with the Medical Marijuana. We are trying to stay away from THC due to her condition she has already fallen a few times. I would love to hear more from you 🙏

Good afternoon, @dyshu. I am happy to help. I have done this kind of response for many members. You may wish to use the search bar at the top of the page and find my posts about dosages for medical cannabis. I will go ahead and share what I currently use.

Let's make sure we know what you are needing. First.....where do you live? States are quite different in what they can and cannot do for you even with a medical cannabis card. Secondly, you are asking for recommendations without THC. That means you will miss out on the entourage effect which capitalizes on the manner in which the two strains work together better than independently. You can alter the dosages so that THC is minimized, e.g. 30:1 CBD /THC.

Here is what works for me with daily tinctures. My get-up-and-go morning dose is a 1:1 CBD/THC......about half of the dropper. Then my settle down at night is a 2:1 CBD/THC......more calming and getting ready for sleep with twice the amount of CBD to THC. With intense and acute pain that requires a topical, I use 1:3 CBD/THC. For chronic pain, I use 3:1 CBD/THC.

May I ask, what is it about THC that causes your mom to fall? You can control how much you take, the percentages of every dosage, and the amount of time between dosages. You can start with a low amount....in mg or ml and as her body becomes adjusted to the cannabis, you can increase as necessary. I don't have any psychoactive events......just calming and painless.

Maybe this is enough to get started. Is there a dispensary near your mom? What products do they carry? Some only have three options....pills, vape, or drops (tinctures). Some have resident cannabis pharmacists who help the patients make the appropriate selections. I do not use recreational products because they may not be consistent....a la....the brownies of old days.

To get another perspective, you might like to browse the P and B websites. They have a lot of good, genuine information. One part of their company is all CBD (papaandbarkleycbd.com). .....the other part is CBD with some THC (papaandbarkley.com). I have been using them for five years or more......they have been extremely responsive and willing to help.

What's next? What did I miss?

May you and your mom be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
