Lower spine pain after robotic Prostate removal
I had prostate removed using the robotic assistant in April 2018. Before surgery I lifted weights and walked between 5 and 10 miles per day. I have been a cripple ever since. No explanation from surgeons or other docs I have visited. I have had chiropractic treatments and physical therapy with no help. Had injections and finally nerve burning done. Temp relief at best. Now looking into some sort of stimulator being surgically implemented. I am hesitant to do this. Anyone have any suggestions? Thx

Hi. At the one month mark I started having burning before/during/after urination. Feels like urethra but not sure. Flow seems ok. Sometimes will pee multiple times in a short period of time. Pain Pretty much all the time ranging 1 to 6 as it fluctuates. Seems to worsen with exercise such as a mile walk. I should mention that I had extreme pain from catheter during week right after surgery - doc speculated latex allergy). Just touching the urine collection bag or tube at times would cause incredibly sharp pain. I also have abdominal tenderness/discomfort now. No infection. Abdominal CT a month ago was normal. Bladder emptying scan normal. Am taking 2 Motrin 3x day and 5mg Valium 2x day (surgeon using as antispasmodic). Doc thinks could be “post surgery pelvic pain syndrome”. Feels like the main source of pain is penis and I wonder if catheter fiasco could have caused some problem. Seems very weird that the current issue did not start till 1 month post surgery. Appreciate any thoughts - the pain is wearing me down. Thanks much. DD
I should have also mentioned that I have RA, treated with plaquenil. DD

What has your oncologist suggested to help with the pain?
I am trying again. Just sent them my latest MRI. Fingers crossed
I have been talking to a Dr about stem cell injections for my pain problems. Anyone here have any expectations with Stem cell injections?
Absolutely the same with my husband. Last time I saw him strong, fit was the day of operation, 2 years ago. Since then I have a cripple, who gets straight with difficulties and can not sleep because of the constant pain.
Stan,
Stem cell therapy for musculoskeletal regeneration conditions is making progress. Some treatments are available today and others in the near future (hopefully). You can read more about what Mayo Clinic is doing here:
– Regenerative Medicine https://www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/center-regenerative-medicine/patient-care/regenerative-medicine-therapeutic-suites
There is a great deal of hope and a great deal of hype about stem cell treatment. There are many fraudsters out there. That is why Mayo Clinic offers a free consult service. When you call the consult service, they will tell you about the availability of approved stem cell therapy at Mayo Clinic and elsewhere, and for what conditions. They can also tell you about research studies that are actively recruiting participants. Furthermore, you can add your name to a database to be notified when additional studies and information become available. You can learn more about the Consult Service here http://www.mayo.edu/research/centers-programs/center-regenerative-medicine/patient-care/clinical-services/regenerative-medicine-consult-service.
Or call 1-844-276-2003 to speak with one of Mayo's experts.
I have an appointment on may 10 with the Mayo pain center in minasota. . Any way I could get an appointment with the stem cell dr on the same day ?
