Rubysue, you’re standing on the same spot where so many of us along our cancer journey have stopped. We wonder if it’s worth it, do we go forward, do we take the meds.
Having come out on the other side of my laborious trek, I say yes! A resounding yes. Keep moving forward and get this treatment started. Of course you’re nervous about side effects. And there will be some. There will also be ‘bad cancer days’. But you know what, you take them one day at a time. Some days you take them 5 minutes at a time. But you push yourself along by staying positive and staying active and keeping a sense of humor!
If you don’t go forward with this battle, if you don’t take the docetaxol, you’ll lose before you start! To keep walking on the face of this planet you need to be the victor over this cancer. And to do that, you face it head on by taking the meds prescribed and have faith in your cancer team to help you through this.
What scares you most?
What I can say to that is: Be glad you have options. I know it sounds twisted, but be glad there is something for you to try. The doctors wouldn’t give you this if they didn’t think you’d handle it. (This is not the case ‘here’.) I’ve heard from an outside doctor, there ARE people who don’t have many side effects from docetaxol. You are entitled to have a bad day! Give yourself time to process those feelings and then go back to your positive attitude self. 😉
