What's outside of your picture window today?
As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?
For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:

Beautiful!
And by Ivey. I meant icy…thanks auto correct for making look stupid. 😂
Oh yes! The weather is pushing us South - we'll need longjohns the first day on the road! The beach pictures from my friend yesterday were just about the "icing" on the cake - right after having to drive to a small meeting in the snow on Tuesday.

Sue, for years I’ve been dragging my heels, avoiding the ‘snow bird’ migration to the south like old people! 😂 I love winter and actually it’s my favorite season. But as a gift to my husband, a couple years ago, I booked a condo for a month in his worst month…February.
Well, i have to say he has made a convert out of me. Now we’re annual trekkers to Florida for sun, sand, warmth, from November to March. Getting home for the holidays was enough snow and cold for me! Nothing screams winter like using hand sanitizer when it’s 7 degrees. Evaporation of that alcohol chilled me to the marrow! 🥶 And I want to keep my marrow happy. 😂. 4 weeks to go and we’ll be back in the sun!
@loribmt, @sueinmn, @johnbishop, @IndianaScott, and all...Good news, Lori. Glad to know you're becoming less of a snowbird and more of a convert. It is wonderful to be in the sunny, warm Florida tropics during these months of frozen toes and fingers and noses. The frozen areas are so beautiful and interesting, especially since I haven't lived in snow country since NC mountains when I was a child. We used to ride our horses down the hills to the small town to pick up milk or whatever since the cars were grounded. I loved it, but even lthen and as an adult visitng, the cold was never my friend. I think the good Lord knew just where to plant my feet, in the dirt and sands of Florida.
Interesting, in Jacksonville, Februray is usually still pretty chilly but in late Feb and March the azaleas are in fulll bloom, a true signal of the beauty and color and flowers ahead. So, you'll be joining us soon in Feb. I think you have the best of all worlds, Lori. Glad you like your Florida visits. We love our 'snow-bird' visitors, generally. You add to our economy, rent our condos and homes and often have a final sale for a permanent retirement. But, some can be irrritating or demanding, those are welome to come and spend their money at Disney World and such, but scoot on home to the cold.
Our real estate values have gone out of sight the last several months. I have a friend who sold her condo, put it on the market one day at a good asking price, had 4 buyers bidding over tthe place and sold at $50k over asking price. She's buying a house today. Amazing.
Glad all are well and happy. We're ok currently. Rob is ckg with his neurologist at Mayo re the deep brain stimulation surgery, to see if he qualifies. And, the surgery to cut the nerve from the cervical vertebrae down his shoulder and left arm. He's willing to have no use of the arm in order to stop the pain. He can't use it now due to the pain, so, we'll see what they say. He's had 18 years of this, so it's time to take whatever steps possible to make it better and give him a few better years.
I'm perking along the same roads.
Blessings to all. elizabeth
What a beautiful sunrise.
Hi @fiesty76 I realized I haven’t seen you on Connect for a super long time! How are you? What’s new outside your picture window?
Good Morning, you are so right that looking out the window is very calming. In fact, I do it a lot during the day since we really cannot go anywhere. Right now looking out it is snowing big fluffy flakes. The guard dog and the barn cats are just sitting at the house in the snow sound asleep; I can not see the cow and calves, they are all in the trees. By Saturday, the snow will be all gone again. It never lasts. Thanks for sharing.
You must live somewhere warm to have the snow melt again. Thank you for sharing your view from the window. It feels very bucolic and charming. It’s scenes like this that remind us that every day is a gift.
We live in Missouri on the farm. The weather this year has been so ever-changing. Sat.-Sun. we had snow which was gone in a day and temps near 0. Now it is in the 30-40 with snow and back up to 50+ tomorrow. Usually, by now we are covered in thick ice and snow with trees bending or breaking off. And ice also covering the power lines. So today's view was great even a little sun peaking out. KLH
