Severe nose bone pain
hello! I have been having pain on the right side of the bridge of my nose for two years. The pain is a constant severe dull ache and is concentrated only on the right side of my nose. On my bridge I have two little bumps (like everyone else) on either side however the one of the right is visible and slightly raised compared to the left, which is not visible. The pain is concentrated on this right bump. I am unsure of what to call these “bumps” but I believe they have been referred to as like “shoulders” of a nose bridge. The pain does increase and decrease in severity but lingers throughout the day.
I have had two concussions and the best way to equate my pain is similar to that of a concussion headache, but concentrated on my nose. One other thing I have noticed is that more recently the pain will also appear on my right cheek bone in the same type of small concentrated circle at the same time as the nose pain. This does not always occur but has been happening at least once every two days for months. However, my true concern is the nose pain.
My last note is that at times when I lay down to sleep if I lay on my left side in a certain manner it intensifies the pain quite greatly and I need to adjust my position to make it go away. I also would like to make it clear, I do not have sinus issues or a sinus infection as I have been checked for that. Finally it is my bone that feels that it hurts (that’s the best way I can describe it).
(Quick note, my concussions were recent and I have gotten an MRI for them and they were all clear!)
If anyone has had any similar experiences I would greatly appreciate a response.
Thank you all!

Welcome, @natyg. In some ways the pain and sensations you describe sound similar to some discussed in this related discussion:
- Nose cartilage pain, no redness or swelling https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/nose-cartilage-pain-no-redness-or-swelling/
Have you seen an ENT specialist about this pain? Is it related to the concussion injuries?
hello! thanks for your reply, I have spoken to an ENT and he prescribed a nasal spray, which did not help at all. The pain, I don’t believe is related to my concussions, because my nose wasn’t hit, however it could be a possible factor. I will check out the discussion you sent! thank you again
Hello did you ever figure out what this was? I have struggled with this for almost two years too and even went to mayo as a patient. I still feel severe pain.
