What's your experience with Vertiflex Superion Implant?

The pain and the uncertainty can be very tiring; keeping a positive attitude is also hard but it is the only way. I had my stitches, actually staples, removed yesterday. I still have significant pain if I stand more than a few minutes but I have given up using a cane. And I think I am feeling better everyday also !! Later...........

Yes standing and walking are still worse than before- I am coming to the 6 week point - praying for healing - Merry Xmas!

Did your doctor give you any idea of the time it might take to see significant improvement? I have been asking myself that question. I am in less pain vs before the Vertiflex insert but how/when do you decide to seek a different solution if it is not giving the relief you need? Doctors tend to talk in weeks; if I recall Vertiflex instructions advise limited movement for 8 weeks; this suggests that after 8 weeks the insert should be in tune with your body and you should have significant benefit. Hmmmm.....
I have a follow up appointment with a spine specialist in January. Maybe at that point we will decide whether or not the Vertiflex stays or we resort to surgery. A daunting prospect !

Hi, I'm researching this for myself, and I can identify with your pain, especially upon waking, due to steroid injections my life has been in bed, and I beg anyone considering steroid injections to avoid it with your life!.

Even though I was in chronic pain for years, I could still lift weights, walk, and dance with pain pills and take care of myself, now alone in bed it takes all of the courage in the world to get dressed Taking a shower is now weekly due to the pain sitting on a stool, and having to shave my legs. Dang, how can you live life without bending after this procedure?

If I wasn't alone in life, it would be so much easier. I beg anyone who's doctor is talking to about steroid injections please don't do it.

I hope that the RDF procedure works for you, I've had 4 and not one has helped even when my neurologist found the exact nerves that my vertebrae are sitting on.

I hope that you have a better pain doctor then I had with my entire heart. May the Lord be with you and heal you.

Also, they tell you not to eat or drive, I could never go without eating, unfortunately I had to lie and ask God's forgiveness for not telling the truth. It's ridiculous for them to tell you that you can't eat just for a RDF procedure. It's nothing to go through due to being numbed before the injections. I hope they work for you with all of my heart!

In my research tonight, I read a lot about the implant slipping.

I had 2 Vertiflex implants. One simply came off my spine and had to be removed, so I had 2 surgeries but only one Vertiflex. Both surgeries did not feel "minimally invasive". However, the remaining Vertiflex seems to be doing its job; my pain is significantly reduced. Whether or not this is a permanent solution is still questionable. I am consulting with a spine specialist.

What is this implant; I currently have a Medtronics stimulator and pain pump. The stimulator is not working well.
