An interesting clinical trial available right now to patients seeking a living donor kidney transplant - the Freedom-1 Trial. In this trial, investigators are using an investigational cell therapy to prevent rejection. The outcome of this study could be elimination of immunosuppressive drugs for kidney transplant patients. I am certain all of you would welcome this news with open arms once this becomes standard of practice. I have attached the flyer - which also contains a link - for more information.
