I made the same decision! My pain was not tolerable for 3 months but then has steadily improved, proving what the doc said: we end up in the same place without kyphoplasty as with in terms of pain! Posture may suffer a bit but so far, even with 7 fractures, I am not hunched at all 🙂

Hi @windyshores. I know this is a super old post but I know you have suffered multiple spine fractures. I fractured my L3 in January. My spine doc treated it conservatively - no back brace and believe it or not, he gave me no limitations. I chose not to bend or lift anything for 3 months based on the advice of a radiologist friend and as well as my pain MD.

May I ask you what you can or cannot do? Do you bend forward at all? My PT therapist taught me to bend my knees (they're not great either) instead of my back. Curious how you go about day-to-day activities. Is there anything you don't or won't do anymore because of your fractures? Do you lift anything at all? How about exercise? What do you do for exercise?

Many thanks for your help! Only someone who has gone through the same thing (albeit you had many more fractures than me) knows what it like to live with a healed fracture(s). Doctors and PT therapists don't help at all as far as figuring out the day-to-day stuff.
