Estradiol Vaginal Cream
Has anyone experienced bad side effects from using Estradiol cream? My urologist wants me to take it for very frequent nighttime urination. Anyone have hair loss that you believe is from using iti? Thank you.

Two liters daily seems to be the optimum amount for most people according to most health care providers. We get our fluids from food also. Older people tend to get dehydrated more because of various health issues and probably don’t drink enough. This is not a one size fits all amount. I think most adults don’t drink enough, regardless of age. As for drinking too much….I doubt the average person would get water intoxication where the sodium level drops. I do think this is a concern of serious athletes however. It might be rare but it does happen.
Listen to your body , go by how you feel and be cognizant of how much, if any, water you drink in a day……and Coca Cola doesn’t count as water lol.

Thank you for your answer Mary, but I used to drink close o a gallon a day, and I have low sodium! I try now to reduce my fluid intake, and see how my sodium level is after a few weeks.
Yes, I was getting migraines from it. I am prone to migraine headaches, and noticed the increase and then the decrease when I stopped using it. I was taking it for my bladder prolapse, and it did help. Did not notice any hair loss. I’ve always had to pee at least twice during the night. I’m 61 years old. Good luck.
I was allergic to Estradiol cream so now I have yearly Mona Lisa laser treatments at Mayo.
I DO NOT Recommend this cream. I have not had good results

I think everyone’s reaction may have something to do with the dosage of their particular prescription. I have a very low dosage and have used it successfully for close to 3 years with no side effects, so, from my particular experience , I do recommend it.

@mpeters and all...what in the world is that?????Elizabeth
@ess77
If you mean Mona Lisa Laser treatment...it is laser treatment of the vagina without hormones that is suppose to regenerate tissue to the way it was....not sure how many treatments or how long it needs to be done or if it is a permanent process. That's all I know. Would be interested to hear @mpeters experience with this and how long she has been doing it.

@imallears and all...so would I. If it works, I might be interested. Using vaginal cream nightly, had injection that hurt like ...a bunch...maybe helped. In the urethra muscles to make larger to help reduce leakage. Doc wants me to have 2nd, but decided nope. Also said I need surgery, but injection 1st step. No surgery. Had vaginal tightening years ago as muscles had no strength. Worked wonders, but quite painful, long recovery and not again.
Husband gone, fiance died few years ago, nope.
You know, one reason we have leakage or frequent nightly urination is we relax when sleeping and muscles relax. Bladder is muscle, so makes sense fluid moves. Also, I find drinking water during day, regularly, stop drinking after 6ish, helps and help go during the day.
Just a thought...blessings, Mary in FL. Elizabeth in Fl.
