Hi @amoreenap, I think if your insulin level is too high it can cause your blood sugar to spike. Here is an article you might be interested in:

Have you had a fasting insulin test along with a fasting glucose test?

I have just had fasting glucose blood tests. I haven't done a glucose tolerance test or anything. I'm just wondering if it's normal for an average person to spike to 178 at any given point.
