Hi @kymc and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I don't want to assume a condition in your mother, but I did want to share some information about Cauda Equina Syndrome which her symptoms are quite similar.

Here on Connect: Cauda Equina Syndrome: Pain, symptoms, management & prognosis: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/cauda-equina/

Here on Connect: Cauda equina syndrome (CES): https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/my-story-in-short/

"Numbness around the urinary tract, perineum, buttocks and anus are all symptoms of cauda equina syndrome."
It's Numb When I Go to the Toilet: https://www.caudaequinasolicitors.co.uk/medical-negligence-claims/its-numb-when-i-go-to-the-toilet/

I think addressing one thing at a time might be a good start. Has she seen a doctor about the numbness?

Can Cauda Equina Syndrome cause neuropathy? Can it be part of neuropathy or is it a completely separate condition? Can the "down there" numbness be part of Small Fiber neuropathy since SFN can affect the smooth muscles? So many questions about neuropathy but answers are scarce. Thank you for info!
