Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and trust in a relationship
Hi all I (male) have a concerning question that I hope you good people can answer. My fiancé and I’ve been together a total of 5yrs. We’ve been going through the rough lately and haven’t had sex in little over a month. A few days ago she started having irritations around her vagina. Ends up being BV. I love her and she tells me she hasn’t slept with anyone else. The rough times are getting to me, plus she’s gone for a week at a time for work and to top it off, there’s that little voice in my head telling me she’s cheated before(which was 4yrs ago). I’ve made my mistakes also. Is it likely she cheating again? What can cause this BV?

Hi @rph91, I moved your message to the Women's Health group. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common vaginal infection. It is a type of vaginal inflammation caused by the overgrowth of bacteria naturally found in the vagina, which upsets the natural balance. Why these changes occur and whether the disorder is sexually transmitted are unknown.
Women in their reproductive years are most likely to get bacterial vaginosis, but it can affect women of any age. The cause isn't completely understood, but certain activities, such as unprotected sex or frequent douching, increase your risk. Sometimes earlier infections can return. I wouldn't be so quick to assume that she is cheating. The infection is not proof of infidelity.
It sounds, however, like it is time to talk openly about your relationship. You said you're going through a rough patch. Are you able to talk about the relationship without talking about cheating? Maybe start with how you're feeling.
Thanks Colleen, I thought that I did place it under women’s health group. First timer errors lol. Thanks for clearing up my BV question. Sounds like it comes whenever it wants to sort of say. As far as the relationship, it’s hard at times to talk about it without her getting upset. Even if I express in the beginning that I’m not trying to upset her, just talk. At least she may not have contracted BV from cheating. I think I’ll just give her a gift of my absence. If she reaches out or not so be it.
