I am new to mayo discussion group and don't know how to navigate this system. I am a long haul covid sufferer. woundering what types of theripy people use. I do cross word puzzles, word search, 500 piece puzzles and exercise. Looking for feed back. Spicifically on exercise. I do 30 minutes regular walk one day. the next day do 30 minute walk with 3 intervals of power walking (called HIGH INTESILTY INTERVAL TRAINING or HIIT for short.) Not sure of the sanity of such a workout. Has anyone read, expeienced, information on using HIIT connected to covid-19? I was hit perty bad. What I've read so far many people were hit worse the me. I spent a months time in the hospital and nursing home with follow up phisical therapy in Nov. of 2020.

Hi @skinner, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. We’re an online community forum where members come together to use our experiences and valuable insights gathered along our life journies to help each other.

You found the right place for discussions on Covid and long haulers…
I commend you for taking such positive actions in managing your symptoms! Wow, I’m sorry you had such an awful time with Covid though. You’ve obviously been through the wringer with this. As you can see you’re not alone, we have quite a few members in our Covid recovery group.

I think exercise is a huge component in recovery from any illness. It’s not always easy but it helps to keep motived and positive. So your ability to do some HIIT power walks is excellent!

While you’re waiting for other members to reply, I found a site which contains some articles on HIIT in regard to Covid
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32721412/
And in order to help you navigate our Connect site, here’s a link to some of the most asked questions. But please, feel free to ask anything!
Also take some time to peruse some of our 70+ Health groups and jump into any conversation where you find an interest or might be able to offer some encouragement to other members.

Do you have any questions? What bought you to our Connect forum?

Check out the PBS program “Sit and Be Fit” and their “Easy Yoga” program. I have found both very helpful
