Victories

Posted by rivermaya34 @rivermaya34, Nov 3, 2021

We spend so much time focusing on how to manage our pain, why not shout out praises for small victories and encourage one another to persevere and reach goals? 🙂

I'll go first - I've slowly started becoming active again. A short run or walk here and there (it's cold, so we all know that's a big deal getting out in that!), and I'm developing the courage to get back on the ice again (soon, hopefully!). Waking up in the morning and facing the day is also a little more bearable knowing that I have the opportunity to encourage or make someone smile. Small steps lead to small victories ...

I’m new to this blog and it gives me a lift every morning to tune in and feel a part of my fellow PN traveler community. I’ve had PN three years and I haven’t known anyone else with it to share with about this journey. You look normal, just kind of wobbly, and family/people don’t understand/appreciate the coming and going of the pain and how the ongoing numbness and tingling of 10,000 bees gets old. It’s a lot easier to keep going forward with gratitude for my many blessings knowing there is a community here that really understands.

I'm 80 years old, neuropathy from chemo and I am getting better! I was telling another reader in the cancer section that 2 months ago I was limping along on tours in Seattle with my daughter, having to sit down constantly. I was leaning against buildings because I couldn't just stand there freely. Now, I am once again walking just fine and chopping weeds out in my yard. I live on 22 acres. My kids check up on me, but I live alone There is hope!

Hi hear y’a, Ann! I’m new to this community. Like you I value positive stories, something that gives me hope and patterns to emulate.

Otherwise, I found it overwhelming and depressing. I may dip in once a week or twice a month.

Hang in there and move to the beat of your heart. You can only go right from there.

@user_ch98d0b5c Positive mindset it a choice, it doesn't come easy! Your confidence will increase once you practice personal encouragement. But you have to work at it and do it daily, hourly or by the minute if need be. You will begin to see life in color again rather than grayscale. You've got this, I believe wholeheartedly in you!!! 🙂 @kobe4thewin thanks for your encouraging tidbits and gracing us with your presence. I look forward to each time you show up! Best of days to you! 🙂

To everyone out there, I'd encourage you to look for the flower in the room. There is always one, but it may be partially or completely hidden. It is not out of reach, though. Once you find it, hold onto it gently but tightly. Gaze into its beauty and hold onto the hope it brings. Take it with you wherever you go and share its joy with others. You hold in your possession a rare and precious treasure...never lose or let it out of your sight. Blessings, hope and prayers for pain-free days for all of you lovelies <3
