Does anyone else think that sugar can trigger or increase their dizziness?

Hi @landonbird - You asked a good question. It's never happened with me but I think sugar can trigger dizziness. Here's some information I found.

"Can eating sugar cause dizziness?
Doctors don't fully know the underlying cause of this condition, but they suspect that the food causes the body to release too much insulin. Insulin is a hormone responsible for processing blood sugar and lowering glucose levels. As a result, a person's blood sugar levels drop too fast and they feel dizzy."

Does eating sugar sometimes cause dizziness for you?

This seems to happen often to me lately. Would like to know if I'm right in connecting my lightheadiness and lower blood pressure to onset after eating sugary foods or carbs.. thx

I have taking glemiperide, which is suddenly making my glucose crash to the 50’s.
I’ve been having light headed spells for months, and wonder if sugar is my big problem,

Welcome @luluq, I think that might be a good question to ask your doctor. Do you have diabetes?

@luluq Have you been tested and confirmed for diabetes? I was diagnosed as pre diabetic and put on meds like metformin with horrendous side effects to the point that I could not get out of bed and immediately taken off of this medication. The reason is that an antidepressant medication I was on was the culprit and not my body so once off that medication my A1C numbers lowered and no diabetes. I do try to eat lots of vegetables to keep numbers in balance.
