Macular pucker after cataract surgery

I had the appointment at the Kellogg Center and I`m not sure what to think. What they want me to do is continue with the drops ( Prednisolone and Kertorlac) four times a day for each. I have a return appointment on November 22nd. The retina specialist said I still have some swelling( I don`t know exactly where this is) and I asked him about a surgical solution. He wanted to wait and didn`t say much except it might clear up with time. I have had this blurriness and floater problem now for 3 months, and I asked him if my vision would ever return to what I had prior to cataract surgery. How much time he couldn`t answer. I`m disappointed but need to have patience and keep taking these drops. I had stopped taking the Prednisolone for awhile , but will take it again and follow his guidelines. I guess I was hoping to have a better solution for this condition, and I have this fear that it is going to be a permanent problem.

Hi @metermaidman

I'm sorry that you did not get a more clear-cut answer from the doctor as to the timeline for a full recovery. We would all like doctors to be able to give us specific timelines, especially when we don't feel at our best.

While this might not be a "permanent problem" as you suggested in the last sentence of your post, it certainly might take time to resolve. None of us like to wait and watch, but this is generally better than rushing into a surgical procedure. I hope you get some more answers when you return on Nov. 22.
