I took my husband to the Infectious Disease Doctor yesterday. He said there is no way to correct his collapsed left lung because it was caused by excessive secretions. He said the secretions will continue. He is holding off on prescribing the MAC treatment until he gets the report from Colorado on the secretions that were extracted during the bronchoscopy. One report has come back already showing he has pseudonymous again. He is now on Cippro and the ID Doctor wants to wait until the Cippro is gone plus 7 days before he begins the treatment. He also said he wants to see all of the medicine bottles (there are many) so he can do a good analysis to make sure the MAC treatment will not interfere with his current regiment. My husband was fully dressed and weighed in at 115. He lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks. He is very thin and weak.

Our son left for Colorado early this AM. I miss him already because we probably won’t see him until the holidays due to him and his wife moving from CO to the State of Washington. Our other son was with us for 6 months and left about 2 weeks ago. I like getting back to the normal routine but when one of the boys is here they are real supportive and do whatever I need around the house. However, it keeps me strong to be on my own. I have a sister in law here in Sebring, FL and a brother, who is not helpful at all, in Northport, FL. Do you live in Jacksonville? Do you have a good support group nearby? You are extremely helpful to everyone in this group.

@suzie2018 I sure hope you have a nutritionist because it is important that your husband has a diet with alkaline forming foods to keep the mucus as low as possible and to give a chance to the antibiotic to do its job.  Chili is made with beans and high in

protein but it is also high in Acid forming (mucus).  Here is a list of Acid forming foods: Alcohol, asparagus, beans, brussels sprouts, catchup, chickpeas, cocoa, coffee, cornstarch, cranberries, eggs, fish flour , flour based product, legumes, lentils, meat,

milk, mustard, noodles, oatmeal, olives, organ meats pasta, pepper, plums, poultry, prunes, sauerkraut, shellfish, soft drinks, sugar, all food with sugar added, tea, vinegar.  To gain weight peanut butter and honey ( honey and maple syrup, molasses are sweet

but are alkaline

@suzie2017 Chili, sour cream, Texas Toast and Ice cream. This food is is very good but very high on mucus forming.  Check the internet to bake more alkaline food to keep the mucus low.  When you eat a high acid diet you nourish the mucus so it multiplies.  Does

he take probiotic? You may think seriously to give him a high dosage but one without diary product.  You can order some on Dr Ohirra ! You have nothing to loose to try!

Thank you Nick for your suggestions. We will be seeing my husband’s Pulmonologist tomorrow and I will talk to him about a nutritionist. I am capable of searching the internet but I agree a Nutritionist would be the best to design a weekly menu for us.

@nick52 I eat all of these foods,no wonder why I feel like I'm so very sick 24/7 Thank You Toni

Can you tell me what foods? Thanks, Jane

@nick52 Gosh, you just listed all of the things I eat on a regular basis! Take those away, then, what is left to eat?!! My body has a very high ph, I have litnus tape to test the acid level in my body. It is off the chart high. I don't need the tape to tell me that to know it. My tongue burns all of the time. I even FEEL acidic. The list of alkaline foods is short. I get bored with limited food variety. Any suggestions?
