How about a laugh, (hopefully)

Posted by Leonard @jakedduck1, Dec 31, 2018

I believe laughter is the best medicine. Laughter has actually been scientifically proven to help people with depression issues.
Let’s give it a try so we can all get happy and feel better. Many Epilepsy forums I’ve been on had joke sections. I was probably the biggest joke of all since I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. They said the jokes couldn’t be above 4th grade level for me to understand them so my jokes may be rather simplistic but let’s give it a try.
Have a lovely day everyone,
Jake

@rosemarya

Do we really need Halloween this year? 🎃

I’ve already been wearing a mask and eating candy for months!

@rosemarya
No offence Rosemary but that was the dumbest question ever asked here.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!! CERTAINLY!!!!!
UNQUESTIONABLY!!!!! DEFINITELY!!!!!
We or at least I need a Halloween.
Halloween gives you a legitimate excuse to eat even more candy than usual. And I will most definitely take advantage of the opportunity to indulge.
I can forgo the mask but not the candy. With a face like mine who needs a mask.
GOOD NEWS...I just found out Hershey's will make larger chocolate bars than the measly 5 pound one I have.
A lady was in buying See’s candy the same time I was and she was telling me she bought a 20 pound chocolate bar she special ordered from Hershey's.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN,
🎃Jake👻

Jake, Jake, Jake ... Me thinks Rosemary was poking fun at Halloween because we all have been wearing a mask for so long, why do we need to put a mask on for Halloween 😂 - The candy was just a bonus poke at the holiday and everyone wanting to get back to normal. Pssst... I love it when my wife's twin sister visits because they both bring back chocolate from the Mantorville Chocolate Shoppe (https://chocolateshoppe.co/) and since they are together, my wife doesn't hide it and I get to nip some anytime no one is looking! I love their homemade fudge with walnuts.

I still haven't ordered any candy from the Chocolate Shoppe. I want everything on their website except Espresso Salted Caramel Cubes & Mint meltaways. I have bit the bullet and choked down a mint left on my pillow at a hotel. I left the maid a tip and wrote a note explaining it wasn't a tip but a bribe to leave something besides mints. She left a Hershey bar one night and Reeses peanut butter cups the next.

That’s funny…I haven’t seen a pillow mint in hotels in donkeys years. I was in a “posh” hotel in April here in Florida and they had absolutely everything but chocolate. They did have 3 energy bars near the espresso machine. The really more expensive rooms came with a wine dispenser…filled! I hate chocolate mints too.

There is actually an album or some music called Undertale that has words something like “can you really call this a hotel, you didn’t leave a mint under my pillow or anything…” something like that.

My husband told me I should embrace my mistakes.

So I hugged him.

This is nowhere as good as @jakedduck1 ’s jokes, but……..
We had to have the garage door repaired.
The repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'You need a 1/4 horsepower.'
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and he said, 'NOOO, it's not. Four is larger than two.'
We haven't used that repairman since...

We ran into that logic in a young man at the building supply center years ago, and I've never forgotten how amazed I was.
Here's the lesson my daughter's teacher used back in the 80's when trying to teach fractions:
When they insisted a 1/4 was bigger than 1/2 she would ask, "How many cents in $1.00, one-half dollar, and a quarter?" She would get the coins out and show them to the kids, and it would dawn on them.

@becsbuddy

Oh good grief! You know, that is really a sad commentary on our education system. I hope he wasn’t the owner.🤦‍♀️
