Scl-70 test: Confused about the results
So, I had scl-70 blood test done. the lab it was sent too said my results are negative. I see on here for that test anything over 1 unit it positive, my result was 3 units.
so...why are they saying its negative if on here it says anything over 1unit is positive?

@carolynhope1994 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Lab results can be very confusing, especially if 1 says positive and 1 says negative. I really don’t know why it gives you both. I think your best bet is to ask the doctor who ordered the blood test. If you have access to the portal which allows you to ‘talk” with your doctor, I’d suggest you try that.
Were you sent for the blood work based on symptoms? Do you have an upcoming appointment?
yes, I was. I have muscle and joint pain, dry mouth, dry eyes(clear stringy discharge can be pulled out) extreme weight loss(50 pounds in under 5 months) feels like im always full, i can feel food going down my throat and feels like something is stuck. I have raynauds as well. I have horrible diarrhea and stomach pains. also always feel tired.
@carolynhope1994 What does your doctor say about all your symptoms and the lab work? Have you thought about going to a regional medical center or university teaching hospital? You really need to get this figured out!
Have you got some good hospitals near you?
I have issues similar to yours (plus some others) and am also still trying to get answers. I hope that you find answers soon and that you will come back and let us know what you find out. I am desperate for a diagnosis
was told i might have CML but they aren't sure yet, other than that I'm still fighting for answers! i hope you get answers soon as well❤
Thank you! I’m about to order a bunch of private lands that have not been run but should have been. Maybe that will help me advocate better for myself.
Have you thought of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome? …..this was activated in me after all my shots……awful….but you might want to check it out.
