@windyshores

My immune system is a little awry (lupus). I assume that is why. With a score of -3.4 can you go on Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity to grow bone before Prolia or Reclast? I have read that using Prolia first can interfere with the effectiveness of the bone-growing drugs and that the docs (and insurance0 have the sequence backwards. Check to see what your insurance will allow. Do you have any fractures? Have you tried Fosamax? The latter two things can help get insurance coverage for the anabolics.

Hi @windyshores , I haven't had a fracture so my endocrinologist said I can start with Fosamax or Prolia. He said he would use Forteo if I broke something. He is suggesting Prolia over Fosamax because the number is bad and he wants more power up front and then if things go well, his plan is to move me to Fosamax. But I agree with you that something like Forteo makes more sense. Is it possible to switch to Forteo after taking Prolia? Is that an option if the Prolia doesn't work? Thanks so much for letting me know your experience!

Thank you @windyshores ! Now I understand why my doctor said "without fractures" he recommended Prolia instead of Forteo....it's"about the approval from Insurance. I thought he was following some type of diagnostic protocol. He said without a fracture he recommended Prolia or Fosamax instead of Forteo. Thank you for the education!! 🙂
